“This is a bar in Benidorm and Sitges. It’s an old website, it doesn’t use any modern responsive technology, I cannot find any reason for a total block of this site (I used a vpn to access it). This level of authoritarian censorship is shocking, beyond belief. I am reminded of JD Vance’s speech to European leaders where he warned them about the levels of censorship and authoritarianism rampant throughout Europe. On that subject, it seems my best option is to leave the UK permanently. As Harry Miller is supposed to have said when police came to the door to ‘check his thinking’ after someone complained about a comment on twitter, now X, 1984 was supposed to be a warning, not an instruction manual. If UK internet providers are blocking websites indiscriminately, the option for any free thinking individual, or even someone who wants to access the website of a Benidorm bar, is to get out of the YK as fast as they can.”
